Great place in the middle of town. Spacious and clean. Super friendly owner and staff. Very short walk to restaurants and coffee shop.
Fantastic place to stay! We had a very nice apartment in an outstanding location, walkable to everything in town. The apartment was spacious and VERY clean. All the rooms were well-sized and comfy. Would definitely be looking to stay here again next time I'm in St. Paul.
This is the best place I have ever stayed! I would give it 10 stars if possible! I stayed with a group of 8 or 9 people, and he had a room (room 115) that had enough beds for everyone! Coffee maker in the room, cable TV, wifi, and you get discounts for local restaurants just for staying here! Within walking distance of a great bbq place, quiet, clean. On site guest laundry, and there was even detergent and dryer sheet for use. I will be returning.
No idea why this charming getaway hotel is listed as 2 star, say what? This is a 5 star boutique hotel on every level. The kind folks who run the place were delightful. My "check-in" was done on the front porch at twilight while sitting on a nice chair and seeing the last glow of sun over the quaint little town, greatest check-in in my life(I was expecting the usual lobby with a staff person trying to pretend they're happy Im staying there). The rooms are immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. The mattress, pillows, towels etc are all as you would expect in a more expensive place, better than any Marriot or Radisson Ive ever stayed in. After a long day driving the beautiful backroads of Wise and Russell counties I was kind of stupefied when I found this hotel because I sure didnt expect such comfort. Thats why Ive posted my pics and included some scenic shots of nearby areas including the Clinch River. I could see this hotel being perfect for cyclists and canoeists, base out of St Paul and enjoy some Appalachian serenity. St Paul is also a charming small town with a few nice restaurants that you can walk to from Mountain View Lodge. I'll be back.
